Japan and China to Cooperate in Recovering WWII Chemical Weapons

Daily Yomiuri Online of December 15 reports that Japan and China are scheduled to establish a joint organization to recover toxic weapons left by Japan in China at the end of World War II. They report that in one location alone, the Haerbaling district of Jilin Province, there are estimated to be some 400,000 chemical weapons buried. Problems associated with toxic weapons from WWII in China have been a serious issue of dispute between the two countries.
